A color palette like no other converges into the fantastical setting of lavender fields. If only for a pinky magenta runway to top it all off, oh wait there it is. Simon Deporte Jacquemus outdid himself during this seasons Spring 2020 Menswear Collection. What is more calming than watching high fashion cross your eyes while your ears filled with the sound of ruffling florets in the south of France. Jacquemus is celebrating his 10th anniversary with a show as pretty as a postcard.
Jacquemus is a french brand that has really started catching my eye this season. They bring something else to the fashion world. They don't allow trendy to be its main focus, and they develop creative fits that tap into the modern media without overusing what is in or out. I have really started tapping into less mainstream brands in high fashion. We know the same old Gucci belt and Louis Vutton purse. Now let's stop rocking the mom designer and embarrass some far flung fashion that will have you feeling glamorous and classy.
Along the lines of color scheme, Simon was on point with showing the true hues of what Summer 2019 not only looks like but feels like.
The pasteles contracting with obnoxious yet amusing oranges and blues greys. Some of the colors were so delicious aesthetically pleasing my mouth began to water. Never have I felt so pulled towards one collection in my life. (Although I will forever stand by Herons Spring 2019, absolutely unforgettable) Piece after piece, color after color, lavender after lavender. Throughout the year I have been testing out different shades of reds, blacks, and blues, but now I feel free to whip out some grapefruit orange cargo pants with my black denim jacket. This collection also really embodied the idea of openingness and freedom. The spacious and airy environment allows viewers to roam outside of the fits and look more into the art of the show.
What carried the show to its point was the exotic summery mini bags clashing with an anatomy of gigantic floppy hats. There were no outrages patterns or binging tones. These simplistic and monotoned shades help emphasize the beauty of not only the models but clothing themselves. The concept of the noticeable unnoticeable. Jacquemus pulls us into his show rather than grabbing into our attention. The curiosity lingers in my mind like some beautiful aftertaste of Now that might be extensive but you can imagine this show fully represents what Summer 2019 feels to us. Even though the sun is melting away summer this collection is here to stay. Jacquemus you have a special place in my heart.
