Seven Brands to Shop

Shop, if you can, ladies and gentlemen. In this blog post I will be writing about seven different young designer brands you need to get your hands on before the infamous popular sovereignty rains.

  1. Emily Watson, known for its Melbourne-based swim and resort wear, the innovation is undeniable. My favorite elements of the brand include a delicious color palette, consisting of sunny yellows and electric turquoise blues. The brand plays with excessive layering and statement blocking couture. The clothes are so fun, I imagine myself glistening on a yacht, tanning my rear, as I scroll through their page. Their goal is to decontextualize the idea of swimwear. Every piece has character, ruffle here, scrunch there, categorically beautiful.

  1. Expired Girl, unfortunately I did find this brand through an instagram ad, yet in my defense, their stuff is to die for. This womenswear alternative grunge fairy princess core, eliminates everything about edge. The interstellar brand showcases muted and distracting clothing of culture. You will feel minimally creative. If you like sets, check this brand out. A bit pricey, yes. All these brands are. I will say, it does cost to look beautiful. Very 2000s meets alien take over, but not in a weird way. In a mature, galactic night out on the town attire kind of way.

  1. Jacquemus, a timeless favorite. When I first started getting into fashion, this brand held me by the ear and begged me to buy. I am as broke as a bee, so I withheld. BUT OMG. I love this brand, effortlessly innovative. Always showcasing shows in beautiful utopias of the world. Chic, clean, and crisp. The brand illustrates a dream like heaven of class. Signature layering mocked by their adorable impractical mini mini bags, I can't get enough. They do an amazing job adding light elements of detail, such as hanging bra straps or hip diving waistline cutouts. These investment pieces will last you.

  1. Mall, in NYC. This seldom and seductive clothing collection embodies my future visions of the fashion runway. Always playing with texture and flirty funky set styles. This collection has signatures. My most notable favorite being their silk G string top, oddly outstanding. They work well with textures and feature a lot of amazing upcoming designers like Emily Watson herself. Almost forgot to mention, they have these insanely addicted melting ceramic bags, with light silver chains. The designated cross body of the season.

  1. Klo World, a fairy fantasy. Searching for a costume for a casual brunch, an impressive look to settle down on the first day of fashion school jitters. Hit up Klo. This very unground and I mean very will give you countless glimmer, glitter, and glam. This young designer has a phenomenal job marketing her hand sewn pieces, including collections such as Winx and butterfly motifs all throughout her work. I have been craving some of Klo World’s flutter butterfly tops partnered with fluffy tulle bandeau tops. The brand specialized in festival wear, but nevertheless feel free to wear to church.

  1. Collina Strada, by the looks of the brand listed you will notice I take a fair liking into theatrical fashion. Colors of rainbow, glowing enthusiasm, and just electric energy. This is Collina Strada. This brand was first introduced to me during my fashion design class, in the demonstration of Strada’s spring 2021 collection, I was encapsulated. This brand is weird work work. It is amazing. Gelato shades of fun, detailed overlays and passively beautiful campness. They take a lot of inspiration from the natural world, playing well with habitats and animal embellishments.

  1. J.Kim, a Korean clothing brand. Naturalistic and environmental, this collection radiates simple sustainability. Their mosaic mini skirt patching and knitted embroidered high booties, I love everything. The brand is more muted, very put together and effortlessly stylish. I especially love their takes on the tops, lightly adding pinches and scrunches into the silhouettes. This adds an extra smidge of grunge into their put together brand. There are a lot of pop art elements to their clothing, including repeating floral accents of pristine. They work with cutouts and make something simply look intelligent.
