  1. Tell me about yourself, your age, where you're from, and how you got into fashion? My name Nora, I am 19, I am from the suburbs of Chicago, Got an apartment in Chicago before New York, moved to New York during May, I live in hell's kitchen, I go to FIT, one of the only schools I applied too, I have a strong love for fashion, I am majoring in advertising, marketing, and communications, right now I am not totally sure what I want to do

  2. What drove you to be in the City, where you intimated? I was not planning on going to school until I got accepted, I was very intimidated to be living in the city, after a while you get used to it, normalized

  3. How would you describe your personal style, inspirations, etc? My style is very me and different, you don't see it a lot, when I first moved here my style was not like how it is today, my style before was more pop of color, Paloma Wool, Urban Outfitters, kind of vibe, in like the end of July, I started wanting to change my wardrobe, felt uncomfortable, I randomly started hating color, once I saw the work of Rick Owens, Julia Silver in August I fell in love, I started getting into archive fashion, subversive clothing, I usually thrift, I have two pieces from Rick Owens, I can picture in my head what I’m looking for, my color palette dark green, black, cream, and grey, runway fashion is also where I get my inspiration

  4. What’s the first thing you think about when picking out your outfit? I think about the waist down first, I will sometimes draw my outfits, I will be talking to people and will pause to map out my outfit in my mind, when I think about an outfit coming together, I will not be on my phone, I will be styling, figuring out an outfit, sometimes I get stressed when I can't pull things together, dressing down makes my day worse, I love wearing things the wrong way, my outfit makes my day so much better, I get stares for sure,

  5. Would you say your palette of your personal style describes your personality?I defiantly, think sometimes people connect their style to their sexuality, for me I am bisexual, I felt too girly in my old style, now I wear baggier, more neutral, and masculine colors, I believe I connected the palette to my sexuality, which was my choice. I do not dress for the male gaze, before my style changed, I would wear more clubby clothes, I was wearing tight crop top, showing my body more, but now, I do not care if my fit is baggy. Its so normal to wear crop tops, show off your body or wear more clubbing clothes, I mean sometimes I still do, but I definitely feel like I do way less, again, a personal choice for me.

  6. Who are your favorite designers, stylists, and photography? My favorite is Mason Margiela, Charlotte Knowles, Rick Owens, Otto-linger, Hyein Seo, Vivienne Westwood, and Helmet Lang I don't really know many photographers and stylists, I am still learning and trying to find new inspirations

  7. What are your fashion pet peeves? When I rip clothing up and it looks really terrible, I have a couple leg warmers that go down and wont fit, sometimes the back of my outfits be looking a little wack, I’ll plan my outfits the day before so I don't get stressed out

  8. What would your high school self think of your wardrobe today? My high school wouldn't even imagine me being in the city. I had no idea that this type of fashion existed. I think my high school self would have not gotten it. Freshman, sophomore year, I would probably be like what is that?

  9. What is your definition of a fashion risk? Nothing is risky anymore really, I feel a lot more comfortable, if I didn't like the outfit I am not going to wear it, I don't say anything is too risky anymore

  10. What is your favorite item in your closet and why? My Moon boots, but if I could one piece I would choose my Rick Owens vest, it matches a lot of outfits I wear, I like the stringy look,

  11. For anyone struggling with self expression, what would you say to them? I have gotten DMs, saying my style has inspired them, I totally understand being uncomfortable with my self expression, I would say it’s hard but you just have to try, try to express yourself, you need to start somewhere, it’s not gonna hurt anyone, dress for yourself, you are doing it for you, you don't have to care about what people think, I get hate, so much hate, but I have finally found my style, and it doesn't matter what other people have to say, at the end of the day, do what you want to do
