Aesthetics have always fathomed me. Cottage core, coquette core, clown core, and more. I believe there are a bazillion bamillion aesthetics out there. And yet somehow, they are all a blend of one. Regarding the art world, the topic of having an aesthetic is debatable. On one side you want to have an audience, a niche, a subculture of ready buyers. Likewise you want to be diverse, well rounded, and reputable. I personally have explored many different vibes and am still unsure of what my right vibe may be. But honestly, I don't really see a point in labelling what I am going for. I feel like I should just be what I am going for without going for it.

Picture it, your algorithm has been refined. Every post, pin, and picture is liked, saved, and forwarded. You have a board, an everything you want board, and you are slowly curating a closet that combats the vibe. The essence of if you looked at that girl, you would want to be her. Now subconsciously, I am thinking, is this toxic? Is my ego curating its own personalized That Girl or is it motivating. Thoughts? Anyone? I need to get back on my self help book anthem and get back to you. Forwarding this message, I am here to also talk about my favourite aesthetics and exactly which ones you need to get on this Christmas.
Sad Fallen Sad Girl
The sad fallen sad girl aesthetic is delicate, she ate probably once, barely talks. Draws and mumbles and then has a feminine rage episode and takes a nap. She listens to Lana dramatically and has seen Mitski five times this year. She wears furry coats, mary janes, Brandy pyjama sets and smudged NYX eyeliner. She lost her phone last week and has been using a burner, most likely will call you on a tuesday night at 3 am to hang out.
2. Julia Fox
Now I have finally given in and would like to give Julia credit where credit is due. She is the face of what needs to be done in the fashion world. I was ecstatic to see Julia sporting a young fashion creator’s designs on the cover of the 18th annual New York Magazine. Julia’s looks empower me and I feel like she has a strong enough fan base to put herself in her own lane of iconism. In order to be Julia you have to think like her, blunt raw untextured drama.
3. Giant Woman
By far, the most impactful core of the season. Giant woman girl, she is fierce, she is the moment. Think of when Nikki Minaj Giant Woman the eff out of Ebony Magazine 2010. Now to be the all time Giant Woman, please photoshop yourself as her. You need to see it to believe it. Becoming a Giant Woman is not a mindset, it is a lifestyle. Every room is that Giant Woman, be that Giant Woman in the morning and right before you go to bed. Wear big heels, impeccable sunglasses, giant belts and a bob.
4. The Vamp Boy
I think if I was a man, this is exactly the type of boy I would want to be. Now dare I say playboi carti and get slammed, yes but Vamp Anthem, Bladee listening, Yeat skater boy. Sorta kinda like this boy I happen to know. But in this case, one must never brush their hair, skate 24/7, paint their nails black and never pay for gas. They thrift and buy most of their clothes from the bins or shoplift from a vintage store.
5. Knitwear Girl
I went to a showroom in Paris last weekend and discovered I love the texture of hand dyed and made knits. I met this amazing woman who curated vintage clothes from small designers and hosted showrooms and markets. Anyways, the knitwear aesthetic is mending through matcha lattes, yoga, knitting every item of her closet, and owning three cats. The knitwear mama is carefree, enthusiastic, and honestly always comfortable. She hustles at Free People and on Depop.
