Unfinished Legacy, founded by Brema Brema, who was born in Sudan during the civil war and lived there until his family fled to the states for safety, his brand is filled with screen-printed denim, t-shirts, and hoodies. Most symbolically, Brema uses butterfly motifs to signify the importance of black lives and inspire his own generation to move forward.

Asata Maisé, this designer is established in Wilmington, Delaware, her hypnotizing patchwork adds a sustainable touch to fulfilling fashion. She utilizes color dead stock patterns to create beautiful and ethical garments, and she herself is stunning. She also includes aspiring photographers, skaters, and designers in her upcoming look books and collections.

Sheila Rashid, most notably featured on the legs of Chance the Rapper, Rashid’s signature denim overalls put the 2016 VMAs on the map, figuratively. Her work includes customizable pieces made fit for the buyer, her collection reflects the down to earth swagger that she brings into the world, Growing up on the south side, Rashid’s understands the imperfections and imperatives of privilege, she understands the transformation of community and receive that through her work.

Dur Doux, a classic mother daughter duo, this brand embodied the essentiality of pure glamour, Cynthia and Naijla Burt work tirelessly as leaders to continue the progression of this brand, focusing on avant-garde sensibility and pastel tool tones, they create marvelous garments of campy lifestyles.

Andrea Iyamah, her designs will mesmerize you, once you open your eyes to Iyamah’s use of bashful colors and retrospective patterns to bombard the viewer with authentic Nigerian culture in fashion. Most known for swimwear, Andrea Iyamah will never leave you tasteless and perhaps will have you starved for more.

Brother Vellies, founded by Aurora James, their brand consists of various accessories such as handcrafted shoes to personalized handbags directly from the roots of South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Morocco. Some of my favorite features of this brand consists of knee high Yin Yang boots and feathered wrapped snakeskin heels. A beautiful brand that represents beautiful things.

Pyer Moss, founded and directed by Kerby Jean Raymond, the developing 2013 clothing brand concerns focus on narrative building about heritage through clothes. Pyer Moss also focuses on venturing into different ways to embody activism through fashion, which I believe is one of the most powerful ways of expression.

Edas, mostly known for their outspoken and intricate feminine accessories, Sade Mims creative director of Edas responds lightly through customers by minimizing the concept of more, each item is made to order meaning that as a whole the brand creates LESS waste. https://edas.store/

Romeo Hunte, the ideology of contemporary cultures is pouring of this brand, the combination of luxury and transformability is absolutely unmatchable. If you call yourself the righteous version of the modern woman or man, this brand is made for you, they welcome fashion explorers and will open arms.

Petit Kouraj, birthed from the brain of the fabulous Nasrin Jean Baptiste, Petit Kouraj pokes a finger as stand alone pieces of the wearable wardrobe. She celebrates knitwear, sculptures, and identity in her work like relics as the light in her creative eyes splendor. The best part: all garments are Handmade in Haiti. Irresistible.
